Postplatz 2, Dresden
The latest addition to our Wenceslas family convinces with a completely new look with even more Bohemian and Prague influences. You will find us on the old town side of Dresden, directly at the main traffic junction "Postplatz". We can accommodate 170 guests, in summer our terrace with about 80 seats invites you to stay and enjoy the view of the Dresden Zwinger. Our seats on the ground floor are suitable for the physically handicapped - with disabled WC and additional changing table.
Eat good. Service unfortunately not at all oriented towards the guests' wishes.
Great takeout food that comes in very environmentally conscious packaging. Fully recommended and we'll definitely be back some time soon!
Very good kitchen. Food was plentiful and the staff very attentive. The ambience of the location is cozy.
divine! generous portion, quick service. We need something like that in Stuttgart ?
First of all, the food and beer were delicious. We found the ambience not that great. The guests were crowded together. Separated by plexiglass panes, but uncomfortable for us. It was very noisy on the first floor. It was quieter on the upper floor, but our seat was on the lower floor. Our waitress had the mouth and nose protection (made of plastic) under the chin, which we didn't like. But she was on the ball. Everything went smoothly. Conclusion: next time upper floor. It's worth a try.
One of Dresden's coolest and most atmospheric venues. Delicious garlic soup and a very good schnitzel. Plus the Granat beer. The restaurant specializes in Czech cuisine and can do it sensational. Beautiful thanks to Mrs. Weronika, who advised us, gave us everything and made the evening fantastic. I would highly recommend!
After arriving in Dresden, you just want to have a nice dinner and come across this restaurant .... Around 7:15 pm with possibly 30% occupancy in the already difficult time, you only get the statement if you reserve a nice answer with no yes then bad luck you can see what's going on here, we can't do that .... That is unbelievable at 30% occupancy, it's a shame ... Fortunately there are other options ....

Thank you! We had reserved online and received a very warm welcome. The food and drinks were served in a timely manner. We found the restaurant to be very clean and hygienic, the waiters also wore splash protection on their faces and disinfectants were available for the guests. We found the prices to be reasonable! Nice modern, at the same time rustic and cozy restaurant.
Nicely decorated restaurant in a good location. Food quality and taste disappointing for the price - there are significantly better alternatives nearby. Contrary to my expectations of Bohemian cuisine, many hearty dishes were extremely sweet.
Nice and cosy restaurant in Dresden city center. You can order some traditional Czech dishes. It's tasty.
I booked a table online for a Saturday. When we arrived we were ignored by some waiters and later our reservation was not found, even though I showed the colleague my confirmation. Not all seats were full either, so theoretically no problem to place ourselves that way. But supposedly I canceled, which wasn't the case. Then they wanted to sit us in a crowded corner, I asked the colleague to get us another table due to the applicable distance rules. Annoyed, she finally did it. This whole exhausting process took almost 20 minutes. We sat really well on the upper floor and apart from my dirty wine glass, the rest of the evening was really pleasant thanks to the waiter. Nevertheless, I have to complain that hygiene rules and measures are not observed on the terrace or in the restaurant. The food was delicious, the drinks cold, the high price is more due to the city center location than the quality. Okay, but not necessarily meant to be repeated.
So actually I expected better from Wenzel s. first point ambience. The ambience of this actually Bohemian restaurant ends after the entrance area (sundial). We sat on the lower floor. Food was good. But the ambience on the floor is a mixture of warehouse and Ikea. You look lovelessly at a black ceiling and instead of a neatly clad ceiling you see a black surface where the air conditioning pipes and all the necessary cables that the Wenzel needs are visible. The restaurant Wenzel s in Chemnitz shows that there is a different way of doing things. It is worlds ahead of what the Bohemian style is devoted to. Since it is a new building in Chemnitz and Dresden, I am particularly dehumidified via the Dresden restaurant. Well that should have been it for now. Am dimmed from the Schnell restaurant look with warehouse look in Dresden Postplatz
We wanted to eat here, but the staff was listless and sometimes overwhelmed. We waited a long time for the previous table to be cleared. Nothing happened, we were ignored. Then we left after waiting 10 minutes. Guests are probably not welcome here.
The food was delicious ? we'd love to come back?
It just tastes really good and the price-performance ratio is also perfect. The service is quick and friendly. The restaurant has a nice ambience, it is kept quiet in old German. Very nice to go back again.
Who likes the bohemian cuisine is very ingenious. Czech beers. Everything ok so far. Our waiter was on the ball! , very friendly and brisk. Unfortunately there is a small minus for the small piece of meat. Red cabbage, yeast dumplings and sauce taste very good.
Good bohemian cuisine. The restaurant is located on Postplatz with a view of the Ferris wheel and the Zwinger on a street with moderate traffic. The food is good, the staff is friendly and very attentive in spite of the crowds. We were there several times as the Wenzel was on the way to the hotel. You can eat or just have a drink.
Friendly staff, took care of the guests. The food was okay and sufficient. I was satisfied! If you sit outside in the middle of the city on the street you have to expect traffic.
Very friendly and fast service. The dishes are a stunner but quite large. But I think it's great that you can also have the rest of the pack wrapped up. Then I made my duck for lunch. The menu is absolutely great because I'm a big fan of hearty cuisine. I will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu.
Conclusion: good Bohemian cuisine and delicious beer at reasonable prices. Those who want to rest while eating prefer to sit inside (street noise). Here we had reserved dinner for outside. We were promptly shown our place by the nice and friendly service. Drinks and food are quickly on the table, there is nothing to complain about. The food tastes really good and is more than sufficient. In terms of price-performance, there is definitely a plus point here. When it comes to beer, I got my money's worth here, there is enough choice and it's fun to taste your way through here. The only thing that we didn't like was the location outside because of the street noise. In the long run it becomes quite annoying, next to the road that is not little traveled. If you don't mind, you can really take a look here or just sit in. This is how we will do it next time, because we will definitely come back. Worth it!
Good beer, friendly service ( our Scottie was given water as a matter of course), the Goulash soup was excellent, as was the Rinderbraten. The Bohemian food is a bit heavy for a warm summer day though.
Good food, but I find that the service gets worse every week.
Very poor hygiene!! The food is disgusting. Bad service! The only good thing about the place is design.
New opening directly at Postplatz. Great furnished restaurant with extensive menu and drinks menu. Very attentive staff and good Bohemian cuisine. Tasty very tasty, with some dishes a little bit on the plate (a 3rd dumpling would easily have had space;))
The Wenzel Prager Bierstuben in a new, fresh design mixed with the well-known. A cozy atmosphere with the usual delicious Czech dishes and beers! The service was also very polite, quick and courteous. We recommend!
I only gave this place two stars, because the food is rather tasty and the ambiente is nice with robust chairs and tables and clean toilets. The portions are quite obviously smaller than well established alternatives in the area but the price is still the same. Also it didn't happen to me in a long time, that I would need to have a word with the waiter. In the last round instead of two regular beers we got only one small beer, which I politely refused to accept. I even offered to keep it and get another small beer, which I would see together as one regular one so the unfortunate small beer doesn't have to go down the drain. The waiter left the beer there and probably thought will get away with it. I than stood up after nothing happened for some time and brought the beer to the counter and said I am still awaiting the two regular beers at the table of 6. The waiter suggested, he thought at the time I still have so much left, that together with what I have left a small beer makes a full regular one in his eyes. I haven't been suggested how to drink my beer before and I really think this should best be left to my judgement. After a while we finally got the last two beers. Too bad, these were the last beers I will have in the restaurant for a long time.
